I wanted to create something grand and regal out of discarded scrap materials lying around my house during the COVID lockdowns in Germany. I created a Virgin Mary out of pre-existing paint blots on scrap cardboard. I juxtaposed this important religious figure with the materialistic symbols of the Samsung logo and mail packaging box pieces from an eBay order. I wanted to convey materialism in supplanting religion in the modern age.
